<image:title>Medication Assisted Therapy - Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT): Craving. The phenomenon in which a chemically dependent individual lives with “the thought that crowds out all others”. The thought or desire to drink or use is thereby assigned the highest priority in the actively addicted individual. In recent years, medication to specifically address the ares of the brain that are responsible for the craving to use opioids and alcohol have been honed in a highly specialized way in order to treat craving. The current nationwide awareness of the opioid epidemic is just the beginning of a realization that addiction is a disorder that can be treated with medication. This can be done in a closely monitored and very safe, effective way. Our program, at New Hope Addiction Recovery, is based on twenty years of clinical studies, that remain the standard of care, as well as eight years of personal practice experience in the prescribing and management of these medications. Our MAT programs utilizes Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade, Vivitrol, and Naltrexone. We are able to utilize these medications in a very sophisticated manner, with an individualized treatment plan for each individual, that helps our clients finally gain freedom from addiction. Long-gone are the days of gnashing one’s teeth and white-knuckle sweating through a cold-turkey detox. There is a New Hope and it is in the wisdom of an evolving medical community that knows the use of these medications can make a difference in our client’s lasting recovery.</image:title>
